2009 Committees Agendas & Minutes
County Council has five
Council Committees each with their own section
below.
Minutes from County Council Committee meetings are not posted to the web until
the Committee approves them during their next meeting.
County Council Standing Committees do not
have any requirement regarding the frequency of their
meetings. Some committees meet more frequently than
others. Schedules were initiated in July 1009 for all listed below.
Additional meetings may be required and will be added as
necessary. If a committee does not have sufficient
business to hold a meeting it will be cancelled and noted
below.

our website for notices of upcoming committee meetings.

Budget, Finance &
Administration
Chair: Mr. Reg Dexter
Meets:
3rd Thursday @ 5:30 p.m. in February, April, June, August,
October & December
Budget, Finance &
Administration will meet much more frequently during the
spring months in order to review in depth [line by line] the
proposed budget for the next fiscal year.
Roles & Areas
of Responsibility:
- Property Assessment
- Taxation,
Appropriations & Expenditures
- Collection, receipt
and disbursement of County Funds
- Budgeting
- Accounting Methods
& Procedures
- Bonds and
Indebtedness
- Set Policy in all
matters relating to the Purchasing, Contracting &
Payment of all Equipment, Supplies & Services needed to
operate and conduct the affairs and operations of the
County
- Budget & Accounting
Reports
- Personnel Policies
and Procedures affecting the qualifications, selection,
appointment, duties, compensation, tenure, discharge,
seniority, promotion, retirement, awards, recognition
and other matters relating to all County Officials and
Employees [jurisdiction shall not extend to any Elected
Official or any personnel employed in departments or
agencies appointed by an authority outside county
government] and including, but not limited to the
following:
- Policies &
Procedures affecting hearings, appeals and
grievances of discharged employees
- Coordination of
Administrative Policies and Procedures of County
Departments, Agencies, Organizations and Offices
- Airport Liaison
with the Aeronautics Commission
- All other Budget &
Fiscal matters

Meets:
4th Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in February, April, June, August,

- Right-of-Way

- Roadside Appearance
- All other matters
related to Transportation
If you wish
to appear before the Committee,

Council for consideration on the next agenda.
If you wish
the Committee to consider accepting your private road into
the County Road System,
CLICK HERE, complete the form and forward along with all
appropriate documents to the Clerk to Council for
consideration on the next agenda.
[It is the
applicant's responsibility to supply supporting
documentation for the road and not Oconee County's
responsibility to research documents, survey or perform
other activities to determine the type of roadway. This
application must be complete in order to be considered for
county maintenance. It is the Transportation Committee's
decision whether or not to accept a road after all
information is submitted. ]
