Comprehensive Plan 2020

The comprehensive plan is a document designed to guide the future actions of the County. It presents a vision for the future, with long-range goals and objectives for all activities that impact the local government. The plan is written to provide direction for future activities over a 10 to 20 year period after plan adoption. This plan is a lving document which is designed to be adaptable to changes in time. The County hired Alta Planning and Design to facilitate the gathering of data and content authoring. County Planning staff acted as project management, community outreach, and edited the document per the Planning Commission’s request.

Citizen Input:

During the course of the Comprehensive Planning process which went from October 2018 through December 2019 the County engaged the citizens through numerous public meetings as well as five special newspaper inserts, below. These inserts gave highlights of the elements of the plan and included a survey as well.
